Blog EntryS.O.S 2007 in BacolodMay 22, '07 3:08 AM
for everyone

What a wonderful experience to be an agent of change in St. Benilde Bacolod. Indeed, I really treasure this unique experience, to be a mother, mamita to the students, financier, adviser, facilitator to this incomparable exposure and immersion SOS in Bacolod. We were assigned in the remote  and far flung place of Mansilingan.

Fortunately, we stayed near the Panaad (the sport complex of Bacolod). we used to swim in the pool; we had watched the football there together with my anakis (jm, syoti marvin and aya jommel), benj, mama tess matriano.

We did the leadership training seminar, theatre workshop and the last is sport clinic (volleyball) for two weeks. But during weekends, we roamed the place especially the magnificent Mambukal falls (slide for life, manual wall climbing, dipping in the super duper miracle hot water, sulfur pool, climbing the sixth fallsand the  kayak stuff). We were so tired in this cultural acculturation.

One thing also, we went to Balay Negrense, the ancestral house of the Gaston Family. I am fascinated with the circular genealogy of the aforementioned family. We have felt strange thing there. It is located in the second floor.

We had the bonfire together with the students. They have prepared the program excellently. They pour out their creative juices to make their program more interesting and memorable to the facis. We had open forum and prayer stuff. Lastly we opted to have  kris kringle (exchanging of sentimental and memorable gift).

Alas the Graduation Day for the students, we totatly gave gifts and certificates to the students who performed well in the two weeks training to commensurate their toils. We had  a special number together with the students. We  exhibited our occult talent (the dancing facis) and they performed their drama play. It is so nice to see the students who  are doiing their task with fun without pressure. They did that because of the word LOVE.

WE went to the mini Boracay of Negros which is the Lakawon Island (lakaran). We acted that we owned the place so that we were the first group who arrived there.  I was so happy that we did the beach volleyball, chatting with friends in the tree house to make relax, eating with them especially with the big fish, walking in the periphery of thesea (sea shore), of course the inuman thing with my anakis.

Things that I have learned in this SOS would be engraved or inculcated in my heart and mind. No one can pay the happiness that I have experienced in Bacolod. All things are worth remembering especially the bonding and friendsip that we have made there.

Lonbg live  CSB!!! Long Live SOS!!!
